The Damned, Novi Sad, Serbia, May 9.2008.

The Damned for the first time in Serbia in a cool lineup: Captain Sensible, Pinch, Dave Vanian, Stu West and Monty Oximoron. They played about hour and a half and went trough many hits and also many unexpected songs that they not play so often. The Damned gave their best. Foreplay bands from Novi Sad, Piknik and Blitzkrieg done their job pretty good. It was a free gig, a part of Rhythm of Europa fest.
Must say that Damned are old but hey are still kicking, infarct they played so good it sounded like they are playing on playback. Propaganda for the concert was not very good, posters was the lamest ever and also there was another concert that was also for free in the same time. Crowd, of about 700 people, scattered on the lawn was not the best audience, and kids today doesn't have same feelings for them as kids they listened them many years ago. But songs like Neat, Neat, Neat, New Rose and Smash It Up make people dance as like they are on the real punk rock gig. Captain Sensible make a joke how he heard from Peter from Peter and a Test Tube Babies (they played last year in the same time) that Novi Sad is a great punk rock town and that the beer is very good. He also sad that they are grateful that people from Novi Sad invited them and that they are better than Sex Pistols (whose playing on the upcoming EXIT 08).
